I make a version of tiramisu does this sound good to you?
I use all organic ingredients, and make everything by hand...
chocolate sponge cake layer, drizzled with rum and espresso, with a layer of marscapone cheese and sweetened with agave nectar, with another chocolate sponge cake layer drizzled with rum/ espresso, and another layer of sweet creamed layer topped with shaved dark chocolate and served with hot espresso?
Would you like this type of dessert for a special occasion?
I am posing a new cake, and would like your opinion...?
i didn't think you could get any sweeter. sounds very good, especially with how poplular coffee is nowadays
Reply:It sounds really good, homemade, wow. I barely have time to make cakes from the box. Let alone come up with awesome creations. Good luck if you start a business.
Reply:Yes. Do you deliver?
Reply:i am curious to know how the sponge cake holds up with this?
since sponge cake is moist on its own, does it become too mushy? sounds great thou, just wondering about that
Reply:That sounds freakin' good!! Yum!!

Making margaritas at home - simple question?
i just bought jose cuervo tradicional 100% agave from the liquor store. also bought josé cuervo margarita mix. my sisters says i need triple sec. on the mix it syas jsut add jose cuervo tequila. would YOU add the triple sec or not?
Making margaritas at home - simple question?
Short answer - you don't need triple sec.
Long answer - Adding orange liqueur (such as Triple Sec or the higher end versions like Cointreau or Grand Marnier) to margaritas are an American invention and (especially given they are French in origin) weren't ever used with tequila in Mexico.
The Tradicional is a good tequila, although the Cuervo margarita mix is not very good (mostly corn syrup and green food coloring and artificial lime juice). If you are definitely using that mix then adding triple sec will be fine.
However, if you want a really good margarita, one worthy of the tequila you bought, give the mix to your friends and do the following:
1. Add 2 oz of tequila to a cocktail shaker with ice
2. juice 1 lime into the shaker
3. add 1 tablespoon agave nectar (looks like honey, made from the same cactus as tequila). Bar syrup works too if you don't want to buy the agave nectar.
4. add 1/4 cup water
Shake and serve over ice for the best margarita you will ever have.
If you want to save time and energy, you can buy a fresh squeezed limeade in the fresh juice section and just mix that in equal parts to tequila and that will still be pretty good.
Either way, I would not add triple sec. If you really like orange flavor and want it in your margarita, go for Cointreau. Much better than Triple Sec and not as pricey as Grand Marnier.
Reply:Triple sec is usually used in a margarita, but it is not ALWAYS used...here is a recipe for an Italian Margarita.....and yes, it is very good;)
Italian Margarita
The Italian margarita recipe is called so because it used amaretto, an almond flavored Italian liqueur.
1 1/2oz tequila
3/4oz amaretto - this is used instead of triple sec
3/4oz fresh lime juice
2oz of sweet and sour mix
splash of orange juice
Muddle limes, pour ingredients, shake with ice, and then strain into a bucket glass filled with ice. Garnish with a lime wedge.
...also a frozen margarita doesn't require Triple sec, just your tequila, the margarita mix, ice, lime juice, salt and lime wedge.
Reply:This is a closely guarded secret (until now obviously) but I have the BEST margarita recipe that exists. I didn't make it up although I wish I did. Everyone I know thinks it's the best too! Are you ready?
Take a small can of frozen limeade and dump it in the blender. Refill the same can with beer (it doesn't matter what kind), dump it in the blender. Refill the same can with tequila (it doesn't matter what kind but don't use the really cheap stuff), blend with lots of ice. It's to die for!!
Reply:I would definately add the triple sec. But then, I would also add more lime juice, since the Cuervo mix is too sweet for my tastes.
Best advice to you is experiment! Thats the beauty of margaritas...by the time you've experimented, you've either got it right, or you just don't care anymore!
Reply:If it's already in there, you probably won't notice - and if it's not, ditto:) That's the thing that'll give you the heartburn! When in doubt, just add more tequila:)
Reply:...try the blender icon too...

Where are all the locations of the novela "Destilando Amor" was filmed?
I competly fell in love with the soap opera. Hell I even got the soundtrack. I am planning a month long trip to Mexico and I wanted to go to the locations where they filmed...for example the town is it really Tequila, the island where Rodrigo and Mariana run off too(the second time you know where they were on a row boat in paradise, just before Rodrigo goes to jail), and the Agave plantation. If any one knows please email me. Thanks.

One of the place I know they were filming is La Cofradia, distillery where they make Casa Noble Tequila. This is right outside the town of Tequila.

How do you open jose cuervo tequila?
I have never bought hard tequila before and a bottle opener wont work, or hand opening. It is blue agave 80 proof tradicional
How do you open jose cuervo tequila?
It should be opened like any other bottle. It may have a paper or plastic seal, it so remove the seal first.

Reply:By itself no liquor tastes pleasing, mix tequila in a margarita (regular or frozen) of any flavor, use it in a Long Island Iced Tea or with Ginger Ale. Report It
Reply:twist off the lid, that's how they come in U.S.A. and Mexico
Reply:ew. I don't open a bottle of jose cuervo.
Reply:Maybe it's different where I come from but the bottle is a twist on-off bottle. Don't know how else to answer, sorry.

Is maple syrup glycemic causing spikes in blood sugar?
A friend sent me this message and I want to know if it's true:
"Maple syrup is glycemic; it makes your blood sugar spike. Agave nectar looks and is used like honey but it won't spike you."
Thanks
Is maple syrup glycemic causing spikes in blood sugar?
Maple syrup or anything containing high concentrations of sugar will cause your blood sugar to spike. Agave nectar is primarilly used in the distallation of tequila, thus if you have a blood sugar problem alcohol can be problematic since it turns to sugar in your blood and stomach.
Reply:All syrup whether maple, corn or whatever will cause spikes in blood sugar. Agave nectar is metabolized slower causing a gradual rise in blood sugar instead of a sharp spike.
Reply:Maple syrup and Agave are concentrated sweeteners that will create a case of hyperglycemia.
Reply:Yes, there is a lot of sugar in Maple Syrup....

Can you help me get rid of an Agave Americana?
Ok, long story short....
When planting my garden about three years ago, a friend offered me a clipping of her century plant and I accepted. The color went well and we planted it near a few front windows (nothing like plants with huge thorns to deter would-be thieves). Now, three years later and many, many painful battles with the little babies that keep popping up... I'm done. I want it gone. It's invasive (it has killed many plants in the garden because the suckers pop up 15 feet away from the momma plant), it's a beast to maintain (you try cutting off the branches) and it's a menace to my toddler.
Can anyone help me with the best way to get rid of these things? I know I could always take a saw to the leaves, cut them all away and then dig out the root... but I was wondering if there is an easier (and less painful) way. I've also heard that I could be battling babies for years after I remove the momma, is that true?
Thanks for your help! -- Jen

I gotta lol, Why didn't you research the plant be for planting and think about this ahead of time. You could be enjoying something beautiful now instead of fighting this thing.
Wrap a chain with a slip hook as close to the base as possible, hook the other end of the chain to a truck or big car. Get the chain taught and then give it the gas. may take a couple tries. then start pulling up the smaller roots by hand. any roots you cant pull up, paint the broken ends with round up and cross your fingers. you will still have to pull up stays for a year or two.
Reply:I don't know the exact answer because I don't live in a climate that agave grow in, but given that it is a succulent to a degree I would suggest depriving the plant of water and then chop the plant off ( wearing long sleeve shirt or rubber sleeves as to not injure yourself in the process) and paint the open wound with Round Up. To get the greatest saturation on the wound I would use a sponge brush dipped in a container of Roundup.
This site gives a great over view of the plant and it's needs. Mayb you could do the opposite of it's needs. I would also check with your local extension office, since you are having a problem with these plants I would think other people in your area and zone are as well. They probably get asked about agave quite often, and may have an easy solution for you or access to one.
Definitely to help keep "babies to a minimum" cut off the flowering stalk before it has the chance to set seed and spreading your headache throughout your yard.
Good Luck.

Reply:this will be a long. you will need to dig up the plant and not only chop it up , but take every last peice as far from soil as possible. you must get ALL the roots or else it will grow back. also you can posion it, but this will poison the soil and make it unable to grow anything for 6 years.
i would keep on digging them up and kill the mother plant and it will take quite a few years, but they wil all be gone.
these are pretty plants, but before getting any agrave get a large pot, and stick the agave in the pot so it doesnt spread
